Warm Honey Brown Balayage with Grey Blending & Keratin
This transformation was designed for a client who wanted warm brown shine, soft honey-toned dimension and easier day-to-day manageability. The lighter ribbons were placed to sit naturally alongside the visible grey while keeping the root area connected to the client’s natural tone.
Keratin was added on the same day only after the stylist assessed the hair and confirmed that it remained strong enough for both services.

A Softer, Warmer Transformation
The colour moves gradually from the natural root into warm honey-brown dimension, while keratin gives the lengths a smoother and more polished fall.

Visible grey through the root area, mixed natural tones and a less controlled texture.

Warm honey-brown dimension with a soft root transition and a smooth, reflective finish.
The Client’s Request
The client wanted a warmer brown that would brighten the overall look without appearing disconnected from her complexion or natural root. The visible grey also needed to become part of the colour design rather than standing apart from the surrounding hair.
Manageability was equally important. Alongside the colour change, she wanted the hair to feel straighter, softer and smoother, with less frizz and less tangling after washing.
Designing the Honey-Brown Blend
The colour direction centred on warm brown shine and honey-toned Balayage ribbons. Instead of creating a hard change at the root, the transition begins close to the client’s natural tone and gradually becomes lighter through the lengths.
The lighter pieces were distributed with a soft, diffused effect so the colour would look dimensional rather than striped. This placement also helps the visible grey sit more naturally within the overall pattern and supports a softer-looking grow-out.

Balayage and Keratin on the Same Day
For this case, keratin was performed alongside the Balayage to create a straighter, smoother and more fluid finish. The completed lengths look glossy, soft and neatly aligned, helping reduce the appearance of frizz and making the hair easier to manage when washing and styling.
Combining these services is not suitable for every head of hair. Same-day Balayage and keratin are considered only after an in-salon assessment confirms that the hair remains strong enough. If the condition is not suitable, the service plan must be adjusted rather than forcing both treatments into one visit.
Same-day Balayage and keratin are only considered after a stylist confirms that the hair is strong enough. The safest service plan depends on each client’s current condition and colour history.
The Finished Result
The final colour has a warm brown base impression with honey-toned movement through the lengths. The natural-root transition keeps the result soft around the face, while the diffused ribbons give the hair visible depth without a harsh contrast.
Keratin completes the transformation with a straighter, smoother fall and reflective shine. Together, the colour and finish create hair that looks dimensional, controlled and naturally connected from root to ends.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Balayage and keratin be done on the same day?
They can be combined in selected cases, but only when an in-salon assessment confirms that the hair is strong enough. If the condition is not suitable, the stylist will recommend a staged plan instead.
Does this service fully cover grey hair?
This case was designed to blend visible grey softly into the overall colour pattern rather than create a flat block of full coverage. The right approach depends on the amount and placement of grey, so an in-person consultation is required.
Will the natural root still look connected as the hair grows?
The colour was designed to move gradually from the client’s natural root into lighter honey-brown ribbons. This supports a softer-looking grow-out, although each maintenance plan is individual.
Is this combination suitable for frizzy or easily tangled hair?
The keratin portion is intended to create a smoother, straighter and more manageable finish, which may help reduce visible frizz and tangling. Eligibility still depends on the hair’s current strength.
