Getting Your Hair Done in Bangkok on Holiday: Prices, Timing and What to Book

Plan a Bangkok salon appointment around current prices, realistic service times, your hair history and the rest of your trip.

Bangkok Hair Appointment Guide

Plan the service, not just the price

If Bangkok is already part of your trip, a salon appointment can be a practical way to enjoy a fresh look before you go home. A haircut can fit into a shorter part of the day, while Balayage or a Digital Perm can become one of the main appointments in your itinerary.

Price matters, but it is only one part of the decision. A useful comparison also looks at what the service includes, how much time to reserve, your current hair condition and whether the appointment fits comfortably around the rest of your trip.

Selected public salon menus from Sydney and London help show both the potential price attraction and the package differences. They are named salon examples, not national averages, and the services are not identical. First, here is what Oilly currently lists and a real Balayage result behind the service.

Current Oilly Planning Snapshot

Oilly prices and appointment times at a glance

This planning snapshot was checked on 20 September 2026 against Oilly’s public Price List and available service options. Check the current Oilly Price List again before making a booking decision.

Haircut, wash and style

  • Current planning price: ฿400–500.
  • Time to reserve: approximately 1.5–2.5 hours, depending on hair length and finishing.
  • Included: personalised haircut, three rounds of washing, treatment massage, blow-dry and styling.
  • Technique: Oilly performs its haircut services as dry cuts after the hair has been washed and fully dried.
  • Best trip fit: a shorter appointment window when you want a refreshed shape and finished styling without reserving most of the day.

Balayage

  • Current planning price: ฿5,500–8,500 by hair length.
  • Time to reserve: approximately 5–7.5 hours by hair length.
  • Included: full-head Balayage, toner and target-colour adjustment, root blending, care using either Olaplex or epres, selected professional care products, washing and blow-dry.
  • Possible additions: thick hair currently adds ฿300 and approximately 15 minutes. Additional lightening can add time and cost.
  • Haircut: not included in the Balayage package; Haircut, wash and style is currently ฿400–500 when planned separately.
  • Best trip fit: a day with plenty of flexibility and no flight, fixed tour or other non-movable commitment immediately afterwards.

The menu name is Balayage + Olaplex, but the current package description allows Olaplex or epres according to the service plan. It should not be read as a promise that one named product will be used for every client.

Korean-style Digital Perm with haircut and treatment

  • Current planning price: ฿4,000–6,500 by hair length.
  • Time to reserve: approximately 4–5 hours or more.
  • Included: Korean-style Digital Perm, haircut shaping and professional treatment.
  • Possible addition: thick hair currently adds ฿500 and approximately 30 minutes.
  • Best trip fit: a half-day or longer period without a tightly scheduled activity afterwards.

Real Oilly Balayage Result

A complete Oilly Balayage case before comparing prices

A finished photograph is more useful when you can also see the starting condition, the service choices and the time behind it.

After Airy Dimensional Balayage at Oilly Hair Salon Bangkok, showing beige-golden ribbons and deeper natural roots
After: Softly blended fine and broader ribbons, a deeper natural root transition and an airy beige-golden curled finish.

In Oilly’s Airy Dimensional Balayage case, the client’s hair had dry ends, a history of repeated chemical processing and uneven strength across different sections.

Before Airy Dimensional Balayage at Oilly Hair Salon Bangkok, showing chemically processed warmer brown lengths
Before: Warmer brown lengths with a comparatively flatter colour distribution and dry, chemically processed ends.

The design combined fine and broader Balayage ribbons with deliberate space between selected sections. The aim was to keep a deeper natural-looking root transition and create clearer brightness around the face and through the lengths instead of a uniformly light result.

A 3% developer was chosen for this particular case so the lightening could proceed more gradually while individual sections were monitored. Epres bond-care support and professional conditioning products were also used during the appointment.

The complete service took approximately 5–6 hours, including consultation, detailed placement, gradual lightening, repeated condition checks, care support and finishing. The result was an airy beige-golden dimension with a deeper natural root rather than one flat block of brightness.

This is a real service-time record, not a case-specific price record. The amount paid for this case was not recorded in the source material, so the current general Balayage planning range is shown separately above.

The 3% developer choice was also specific to this person’s starting condition. It is not a universal Balayage formula, and it does not mean that chemical lightening is damage-free.

Before You Contact the Salon

Start with your hair, your preferred look and your Bangkok dates

For a colour or chemical service, the simplest useful first message is:

Send your current hair condition, the look you want, and your dates in Bangkok. If your hair has been dyed black, lightened, permed or straightened, please tell us that too.

You can send questions and current-hair photos through WhatsApp or LINE.

For a straightforward service you have already chosen, you may select it and submit a Booking request. For Balayage, Digital Perm or another complex chemical service, send current-hair photos and your history through LINE or WhatsApp first. Oilly does not offer a separately bookable consultation appointment. Booking is for an actual service, and submitting a request does not mean that the time has already been accepted. The team still needs to confirm availability and the service plan.

In this dated snapshot, Oilly’s published Balayage range remains lower in Thai-baht terms than these two named overseas packages, including after adding Oilly’s separately listed haircut for the Sydney comparison. This is a useful price signal, not a guaranteed saving: the salons use different care products, package definitions, hair-length rules, stylist structures and service conditions.

These are individual public menus from named salons. They are not Sydney, London, Australian or British averages, and they do not establish that Bangkok is cheaper for every service or every traveller.

Sydney: SHINKA Clarence Street

SHINKA Clarence Street listed a Balayage Colour (1 Bleach) example at A$555, approximately ฿13,200 at the dated exchange rate, with an approximate duration of 3.5 hours.

Its displayed breakdown was:

  • Balayage + Toner: A$410.
  • Keratin Protect: A$60.
  • Cut: A$85.
  • Shampoo and blow-dry included under the salon’s general menu conditions.

The salon also states that it cannot confirm an exact price before seeing the hair and that the target colour may not be possible in one session.

Oilly’s current Balayage planning range is ฿5,500–8,500, with approximately 5–7.5 hours reserved according to hair length. Adding Oilly’s separately listed Haircut, wash and style produces a planning total of ฿5,900–9,000 before any thick-hair or additional-lightening charges.

These packages are not identical. SHINKA uses Keratin Protect rather than Oilly’s care using either Olaplex or epres. Its additional-colour, preferred-stylist, hair-type and iron-finishing charges also differ, and displayed service time is not a performance comparison without the same starting hair and target.

London: Nowak Blonde London

Nowak Blonde London listed:

Full Head + Toner + Olaplex Treatment + Blow Dry & Styling — £290–470, approximately ฿12,900–20,900 at the dated exchange rate.

The service appears under the salon’s Highlights | Balayage category. The salon states that the range depends on hair length, density and the intended result. It lists additional charges for medium, long or very long hair, dense hair and selected extra techniques. Weekend base prices are doubled.

A haircut is separate at £100, approximately ฿4,500. Combining the listed package and haircut gives £390–570, or approximately ฿17,400–25,400, before any other applicable charges.

This package is closer to Oilly’s listed Balayage contents than a bare starting price because it includes toner, bond care and finishing. It is still not identical. Nowak groups Highlights and Balayage under one menu category, applies different new-client and hair-history restrictions, and does not describe root blending and target-colour adjustment in the same terms as Oilly.

Plan Around Your Trip

Which service fits your itinerary?

When you have a shorter appointment window

A haircut is the easiest of these three services to place into a travel schedule. The current planning time is approximately 1.5–2.5 hours, but leave enough space for travel to the salon and any change in finishing time.

This option can suit a day when you want a refreshed shape before dinner, photographs or another activity without making the salon visit the main event.

When you can reserve half a day or longer

A Korean-style Digital Perm currently requires approximately 4–5 hours or more. Because haircut shaping and treatment are included, it should be treated as a substantial appointment rather than something to place between two nearby activities.

Tell the team about previous perming, straightening, Keratin, colour or lightening. That history can affect whether the requested wave service is suitable and how long it may take.

When you can reserve most of the day

Balayage requires approximately 5–7.5 hours by hair length. Dense hair, extra lightening, old artificial pigment and uneven strength can extend the appointment or change the result that is realistic for one visit.

Do not place a major colour transformation in the final hours before a flight. A day with plenty of flexibility gives the stylist time to assess the hair, adapt the placement and complete the finishing work without pressure from a fixed departure.

Hair History and Travel

Plan chemical services around your hair and travel activities

Hair history matters even when an old service is no longer obvious in a photograph.

If your hair has been dyed black or another dark artificial colour, it may not reach a light reference result in one appointment. Repeatedly lightened hair can also contain areas that cannot tolerate the same processing as stronger sections. In selected situations, a strand test or a more conservative direction may be appropriate.

Previous perming, straightening or Keratin can affect a new colour or texture service. Share that history before the service plan is confirmed.

Reference photographs are useful for showing direction, but they do not guarantee an identical result. Base colour, density, strength, artificial pigment and previous chemical work all influence what is achievable.

If your trip includes swimming, diving, beach visits, onsen, sauna or steam activities, mention them before the appointment is confirmed. After any Oilly Keratin treatment, keep your hair completely dry for at least two full days. Hair Botox, colour and perm services follow their own confirmed aftercare rules; do not apply the Keratin two-day rule to every service.

Method and freshness note

Oilly prices, inclusions and planning times in this guide were checked against its published service information on 20 September 2026. The live English Balayage service page was aligned on the same date with the Price List and current Booking/Works planning options: ฿5,500–8,500 and approximately 5–7.5 hours before any additional lightening time. The live owners and links were rechecked immediately before this guide was published.

The Sydney and London examples were checked against each salon’s public menu on the same date. Currency conversion uses the retained ExchangeRate-API THB snapshot updated on 20 September 2026.
