A Deeper Base and Finer Lines: Grey Blending Six Months After Highlights
Six months after her previous highlights, this client wanted a different balance of light and dark. The brief was a deeper base with fresh, delicate lines close to the roots: a grey-blending pattern inspired by naturally scattered white strands, rather than an all-over blonde finish.
At Oilly Hair Salon Bangkok, full-head Baby Highlights were combined with Hair Botox for her coarse, frizz-prone texture. Conditioning care and a layered haircut completed an appointment lasting approximately 6–7 hours. The redesign addressed both the colour pattern and the way the hair fell.

The Brief: More Depth, Not Simply More Blonde
The client wanted a darker foundation with fine light strands throughout. Rather than making everything brighter, the design rebuilt the contrast and gave the highlight pattern more definition.
Naturally scattered white hair was the visual reference. The aim was grey blending, where light and dark sit alongside one another, rather than opaque coverage that hides every white strand beneath a uniform colour.
Fine Baby Highlights Close to the Roots
Very fine Baby Highlights were placed across the full head, close to the roots. Connecting the new pattern with the root area created delicate, strand-like lines rather than broad blonde blocks.
The deeper background kept those lighter lines distinct while preserving overall depth. Both elements mattered: brightness alone was not the goal.
Keeping Previously Bleached Ends in Mind
The ends had already been bleached, so preserving their condition was a priority. Highlight lightening used 3% developer, within a plan tailored to the client’s colour history.
The focus was on creating the new pattern while limiting unnecessary processing of already lightened hair. The developer choice belongs to this individual service; planning another refresh begins with assessing the current condition and previous chemical work.
Hair Botox for a More Settled Finish
The client’s coarse hair was prone to frizz and did not fall as smoothly as she wanted. Hair Botox was included in the same appointment to support a smoother, more naturally straight-looking finish alongside the colour redesign.
In the finished photographs, the more orderly fall makes the fine lines easier to follow through the lengths. Smoothing care was chosen for this client’s needs, with the suitability of combining services considered in relation to her hair’s condition and history.
After-Colour Care, Layers and the Result
After colouring, Oilly Laurel Oil Hair Mask, imported from Taiwan, was used as conditioning care. A layered haircut refined the shape, giving the finished look movement rather than a heavy, rigid outline.
The back view shows cool-toned, fine light strands against a deeper base. The side-back view reveals how that pattern continues through the layered shape. Together, the photographs show a renewed balance of depth and brightness with a smoother-looking fall.
