Why Copper Orange Works Without Bleach

Copper and orange pigments sit close to the warm undertone that hair naturally shows as it lightens, which is why they are among the easiest vivid shades to achieve without bleach. On a light or medium base, a deposit-only colour can reach full saturation in one process, because there is no dark pigment fighting against it. On very dark hair the same formula reads as a warm copper-brown glow rather than a bright orange, and a brighter result would need lightening first. The paler the starting point, the brighter and cleaner the copper, so this client’s light base was ideal for a no-bleach route to vivid hair colour in Bangkok.

How Copper Fades and How to Keep It

Copper and orange are among the fastest-fading shades, because the warm pigment molecules are larger and wash out of the hair more readily than browns do. Do not wash or wet the hair for the first two days after colouring. After that, cooler rinse water, a sulfate-free shampoo and fewer washes per week make the biggest difference, and a colour-depositing conditioner in a copper shade can keep it fresh between visits. When the tone softens, a toner refresh brings back the intensity without a full re-colour, and regrowth can be handled with a root touch-up.
