Dimensional Reddish-Brown Balayage with a Soft Off-Root Blend in Bangkok
This case was designed for a client who wanted visible balayage dimension without placing the lightness close to the scalp. We kept a generous amount of natural depth and lowlights, then blended softly into reddish-brown ribbons so future regrowth can connect with the darker pieces more naturally.

The design brief
The client asked for an off-root result that would look settled-in rather than freshly coloured at the scalp. The goal was not a uniformly bright finish. She wanted defined sections and airy, diffused ribbons that would give the long hair more depth while preserving plenty of the darker base.
Before and After
Before
AfterReddish-brown for a warmer complexion
A reddish-brown direction can work beautifully on medium and tan complexions. In this case, the warmth was selected to bring more life to the overall look while the retained lowlights kept the result balanced, dimensional and wearable.
Visible ribbons with a natural transition
The placement combines more noticeable balayage sections with finer highlight details. Some ribbons remain clearly visible, while others disperse softly through the hair. Leaving space at the roots and retaining darker pieces helps new growth merge into the design instead of creating a hard line.
Five to six hours with controlled lightening
This service took approximately five to six hours. For this client's starting point, the lightening work was carried out with 3% hydrogen peroxide. Product strength, processing time and placement were controlled according to the existing colour and condition; the same formula is not suitable for every head of hair.
Hair condition remained the priority
Oilly's main principle is to avoid unnecessary damage while still creating a beautiful, realistic result. Chemical lightening cannot be described as damage-free, so the hair was monitored throughout the service and assessed in both wet and dry states. After professional treatment, the hair retained elasticity, body and strength without an unusually dry feel.
A design made for your own hair
Every balayage plan should begin with the client's current base, colour history, hair condition, complexion and maintenance preference. Send us clear photos of your current hair and the look you like, and the Oilly team can advise on placement, tone, timing and a suitable path for your next look.
