This full-head baby highlights case was designed to blend newly growing grey hair as naturally as possible. Because this was our guest’s first colour service, the aim was not a dramatic transformation. She wanted to keep looking like herself while adding soft brightness and dimension.

A Soft First Colour Experience
Our guest had never coloured her hair before. She did not want bold highlights, clearly separated sections or visible stripes that would feel unfamiliar against her natural hair and complexion. The design therefore focused on a subtle, comfortable first step into professional colour.
Ultra-Fine Placement Throughout the Full Head
After assessing her natural base and grey distribution, we created ultra-fine baby highlights evenly throughout the entire head. Each section was kept light and delicate rather than thick or strongly defined, allowing the new colour to connect naturally with both her existing grey strands and future regrowth.
The purpose was grey blending rather than opaque grey coverage. By reducing the contrast between the natural base and grey hair, the result can grow out more softly without a hard line at the roots.
Warm Honey with a Soft Ash Balance
We selected a warm honey tone with a subtle ash influence. The honey warmth brings brightness to the complexion, while the restrained ash undertone keeps the finish refined and prevents the colour from appearing excessively warm, yellow or artificial.
The goal was not a strongly cool or smoky result. The final balance was chosen to complement the guest’s natural colouring and make the highlights feel integrated rather than separate.
How the Colour Changes After Washing
Immediately after the service, the toner keeps the highlights soft and closely connected to the natural base. As the hair is washed over time and the toner gradually softens, the fine highlighted strands may become slightly brighter and more visible.
Because the sections are extremely fine and carefully distributed, they should continue to look diffused and delicate rather than developing into thick, obvious stripes.
Processing and Hair Condition
This transformation took approximately four hours. The developer strength and processing time were selected according to the guest’s actual starting condition and the level of lift required.
Professional conditioning products were used throughout the service to minimise unnecessary stress and help preserve softness, flexibility and strength. Chemical lightening is never described as damage-free; the priority is to choose a realistic process for the individual hair condition and avoid unnecessary processing.
The Result
The finished colour gives the hair a brighter appearance and creates gentle movement and dimension from different angles. Most importantly, it softens the contrast when new grey hair begins to grow from the roots while preserving a natural overall impression.
